Thomson–East Coast Line — T202 / T211

Overview

Contracts T202 and T211 took the Thomson–East Coast Line through soft marine clay and mixed-face ground along the city's eastern corridor — conditions that called for slurry machines. Six Kawasaki slurry TBMs were deployed across the two contracts.

Slurry tunnelling adds an entire surface plant to the operation. Our crew members ran the machines and coordinated with separation-plant teams, maintaining face stability in ground where settlement tolerances above were measured in millimetres.
