Singapore's Deep Tunnel Sewerage System is a superhighway for used water — deep, long drives with high groundwater pressure and demanding lining specifications. On contract T04, a Mitsubishi earth-pressure-balance machine drove the deep sewer bore.
Our director Mohammad Zahirul Islam worked this contract under Samsung Corporation, and returned to the same programme years later on T08 with a Herrenknecht EPB under KSL Tunnelling — deep-tunnel EPB operation under the strict quality regime that sewerage tunnels demand, where every gasket and every ring is built to last a century underground.
